The movie tells the story of Andrew Beckett, who used to be a professional lawyer in a big law office in Philadelphia. He hides his homosexulity to others. And one day unfortunaly, he found out that he has a terrible disease which is called AIDS.and one of his workmate found that and the company fire him because of it.Beckett was isolated from the society and he is facing discrimination every here and there. He also believes that companies should not fire staff just because he is homosexual or AIDS patients, so he decided to sue the lawyer office. He goes around searching for help, but no one wants to him a favor.finally, his friend, Joe Miller decided to help him in court. They work together as a team and finally they won the respect from the society.

Hollywood is always famous for its big action movies, but after watching Philadelphia, I began to change my mind. This movie stand out and facing two serious topics, homosexual and AIDS.and it mainly talk about how one man fight the value of the whole society. It gives us a belief of “always fight for you own right” and “believe youself you will never lose”

Most people will have smypathy to Andrew because of tragical experence. But Joe Miller is always a unforgettable person for me. I think he is a symbol of the society. He himself didn’t not a AIDS patient. At first , he is also scared of touching AIDS patient and try to keep distence with AIDS patients. But as time goes by, he began to get use to it and always stand in Andrew’s side and fight for him. His change during the whole story also represent the change in the society during that time. Surely, first time when people heard the words AIDS, everything they try to do is escape and isolate the persons who has AIDS, but as time goes by, they will treat people who have AIDS like normal person. Joe Miller is a symbolic icon in the whole story.

In the past days, people will feel shame and ridiculous if someone has a friend is homosexual, homosexual always equal to “freak” or “metal problem” then. But things had already changed significantly. We can have friends that are homosexual. No one will laugh at you because of you are homosexual. it is no longer mysterious any more.

Maybe it’s the biggest contribution of this movie.

Philadelphia is such a good movie and it should be remembered in the history of film.

J: hello, tom, welcome to Wesley college. As we all know, in the screen, tom hank is perfect and changeable actor. Sometimes he is homosexual; sometimes he is solider fighting for glory. Sometimes he is astronaut surfing in space and sometimes he is silly boy with a IQ of 75. And what’s more, every time when we see you acting, we will never think “It’s Tom Hanks”. People’s opinion will always like every single individuals living in our normal life. I think we all know enough about you in the movie. Today we want to know something more.

T: Haha. That’s alright. I like having apple and milk for breakfast. And sandwich for lunch and Chinese food for dinner. I also like taking a walk after dinner. I always play PS3 before I sleep and I also…

J: well, well. Haha. All of these are extremely fantastic. But our audience may not be satisfied with your answers. Of course they wanna know something more. I heard that there will be wedding ceremony next week So… we just want to know how our movie hero found his answer to his life.

T: before I came here. I’ve already known that there are something special here.

J: indeed! Now you have no choice. You’d better do what better we told. Haha. So here we go, Tom!

T: I think almost every couple’s first meet is pretty is pretty the same. But I dare to say, ours was quite by chance. She called and she thought I am another guy. I was quite confused that time because a stranger called you and looking for someone else you never know his name. from that day, and just because of that, we have each other’s number and we began to know each other more.

J: wow, that’s such a terrific beginning. Well done Tom.

T: we are still just friends at that time. One thing happened changed the entire story. It’s a sunny day. She felt bored and asked me to go to beach to see the sunset. As we arrived there, it suddenly rained heavily. We have to hide in a edge of one house. And to our surprise, the damn didn’t sweep our happiness. We spent 2hours there and I think it’s the happiest 2hour in my life.

The rain stopped. But things will never be like that simply. After the heave rain, It blew strongly. I even can not stand in the damn wind. It’s getting colder and colder, we stand closer and closer. Suddenly she said, “ I feel cold”, with little weak voice. I even didn’t think for another second to lock my arm around her. That moment is perfect and I began to realize that the girl in my arm will be the whole world forever.

J: so from that day, you two become girl and boy friends?

T: yeah. It’s pretty romantic, isn’t it?

J: surely! You are so lucky. So where will you spend your honey-moon?

T: we supposed to have a round-world travel. But the problem is I have no holiday till 6 months later. It’s sad.

J: haha no worries, I can go with your wife. It would be fine. Haha.Just kidding. Thanks for your time Tom. See you next time!

Hello everyone. I am here to give you guys a speech about our ability to change the world. when we mention the phrase “change the world”, you and me, everyone here will think, “ well, it’s superman’s job” “Mmm…it’s a little hard for me to do it”. The answers are all right. But have you ever think that you can do something that change the world? Maybe you will ask, we are not powerful people, significantly we have no power to do that. That’s the reason why today I standing here and tell you the secret about how to change the world by you own.

As all knows it, we are facing a serious environmental situation, like global warming and sea-level rising. With increasing CO2 percentage in atmosphere, our world becomes warmer and warmer. So, now, you are the superman now. Everything you should do to change the world is just plant some trees in your backyard. Trees will reduce the air temperature and produce more oxygen by photosynthesis and the most important point is, trees can store huge amount of water and give it out to keep the earth surface air temperature staying at a suitable place. It’s just like an automatic air-conditioner lying on the ground. Don’t think it’s a small deal. If you are doing this, significantly you are changing the world!

Smile to others no matter is you know all not know them! It is important to keep all the people as a union, no matter what skin color they have, what religion they believe, what part of the world they come from, what language they are speaking. We all live in this beautiful blue planet as the same name –human. If we put more kindness to others, we will always think that life is worth living and everyday is colorful. So smile to the ones you meet and everyone is a part of love. If you do this, definitely you are changing the world.

Fight for freedom! Everyone should have their rights to say and to do whatever they like in the limitation that laws allowed. Save every drop of water! so more water can be provide to the people who really need them. Every small cases make the world more like a family. You think you are doing nothing. No! you are changing the world!

As all knows it, the modern society is always changing. Standing in Tiananmen Square or the Times Square, we can always feel the speed how fast the society is changing. 

The earth is our only final home, but the truth is, the environment changed a lot recent years. Climate change is probably one of the greatest environment changes human should face today. As a result of the warming of the climate, increases global average air and ocean temperatures. This, more snow and ice have been melted and the global mean sea level is rising by 1cm per year. Most of the warming that has occurred over the last 50years is very likely to have been cause by human activities, such as burning of fossil fuels, agriculture and land-use changes.  And also climate change always has a negative impact on world economy. Inflation, grain price rising, water shortage, more and more countries are suffering from the bad environmental condition, especially a lot of developing countries.

Another main change is called “globalization”. We can find people having McDonald’s everywhere in the world, we can see people wearing Nike sneakers everywhere in the world, and almost all the computers are using Microsoft software. People are spending more time on surfing the internet, sending receiving emails and chatting on Msn, instead of making telephone calls or write letters. The argument “globalization is good or bad” never stopped, even though someone do not like globalization, but we can not deny, People do benefit from it. In the past days, because of the limitation of transportation a lot of products have to be sold just in local market, people can not see what is really happen in other countries. Now, when you enter the supermarket, almost the world is representing just in front of your eyes. How nice is it that everyday the “world” is serving you!

Homosexual marriage maybe is another significant social change what happen in the recent years. Homosexual is a term for a governmentally, socially or religiously recognized marriage in which two people of the same sex live together as a family. In the past days, people will feel shame and ridiculous if someone has a friend is homosexual, homosexual always equal to “freak” or “metal problem” then. But things had already changed significantly. We can have friends that are homosexual. No one will laugh at you because of you are homosexual. it is no longer mysterious any more. Everyone has their rights to choose the person who you want to live with, no matter he or she is same-gender or different-gender. There already five countries in the world that homosexual marriage is legal. They are Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Spain and South Africa. In the years we can expect, there will be more and more countries join the group of homosexual marriage legalization. In some other ways, it does a symbol, which shows the improvement of society.

If we look backward about 10years, we will see how human’s lives changed. Society is always changing, maybe because of a ridiculous imagination, maybe a simply equation, maybe a conversation. Everyone has the power to do something change it.

So “just change it”.
